Who am I?
My name is Adil Shahzad Ahmed. I'm a dual fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Shoulder, Elbow, Hand, and Nerve Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
My education and training took me across the country and the globe:
Bachelor of Science Undergraduate Degree from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas
Medical School at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas
Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine & the Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa, Florida
Hand & Microsurgery Fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia
Shoulder & Elbow Surgery Fellowship at the Sydney Shoulder Research Institute (SSRI) in Sydney, Australia
I strive to live every day based on my favorite Dr. Seuss quote – "don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." Outside of the career world, I like to work out, write, my Podcast 2Docs1Mic , and spend time with family and friends. I also enjoy international travel and am always looking for new places to explore.

There’s a lot of resources out there for advice on how to get into Medical School and Residency, so you may be thinking, “what’s so special about this website?” Of all the resources I’ve perused for advice or hints over the years, nothing really showed one person’s entire path from Freshman Year of College, through Medical School, and up to Residency acceptance. It was always small little tidbits here and there, hasty responses in forums that were often incomplete, or questions that were only partially answered. Thus I decided to make a website to help future generations of students, providing them with the knowledge I wish I'd known, in one centralized location.
I hope this website will benefit you, because that is the sole reason why I made it. I wish you the best of luck!!!

I run a Podcast called 2Docs1Mic with my friend Humayun Naqvi, a cardiologist in Houston. Together we discuss the medical school and residency journey and our different paths to becoming physicians. We also banter on various topics such as health, fitness, nutrition and supplementation, modern manhood, artificial intelligence in healthcare, and life in general.
